DesigningBuildings marks one year with infographic

The UK construction-specific “expert wiki”, DesigningBuildings, launched in July 2012, has marked its first birthday with an infographic that tells readers how far the site has come in 12 months. I first looked at the site in November (post), and – as a Wikipedian and general wiki fan – have continued to watch its progress [and, disclosure-time, to help promote it as a client of pwcom.co.uk].

The site, backed by the CIOB, Development Securities, Buro Happold, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, and the College of Estate Management, now has over 700 articles (including a good number generated through writing competitions – post), has achieved over half a million page impressions in its first year, and some DBwiki articles have achieved high Google search engine results. To me, this makes it a potentially powerful content marketing platform as well as a source of expert knowledge and information crowd-sourced from the industry it was established to serve.
